John Tetrault, originally from Pierz, Minnesota, began an impressive and extensive career in music at the age of four, when he began studying piano with his father.  He maintained his interest and developed his craft throughout elementary and high school, where he performed with all available ensembles as well as various theatrical and orchestral productions.  John became proficient in several instruments and received numerous awards and recognition for his instrumental talents.

John launched his professional performing career in 2008, when he became drummer of the popular Brainerd, Minnesota variety band, Sound Bandit.  The band toured extensively and obtained a great deal of experience in the music industry.  During this time, John also attended Central Lakes College and the University of Minnesota - Duluth, studying jazz, composition, and audio production.

John went on to study music at Saint Cloud State University, with interests in audio production, composition, and ethnomusicology.  While attending SCSU, he instructed a Music in World Cultures course alongside Dr. Catherine Verrilli.  He also continued to perform with several notable central Minnesota acts, including the massively successful Beatles tribute band, The Revolution 5.

John co-wrote and performed on the critically acclaimed album Rose-Colored World, the 2018 release by Minneapolis rock band Capital Sons.

John currently resides in Saint Cloud, Minnesota, and holds a bachelor's degree in music from Saint Cloud State University.  In addition to performing as a solo artist, he is a member of the following organizations:

  • The Revolution 5 (Saint Cloud, Minnesota Beatles Tribute band)

  • St. Francis Percussion Ensemble (Director)

John also markets and promotes several other talented acts, and is a freelance audio engineer and producer.  He teaches percussion, piano, and bass guitar at St. Francis Music Center in Little Falls, Minnesota.

John has performed alongside notable entertainers such as Rick Derringer, Paul "Stretch" Diethelm (Jonny Lang), Tommy and Jeff Vee (The Vees), Jeff Boxell and Dick Dunkirk (The Shadows Band).
